VANCOUVER CELEBRATES WOODCUT PRINTING

VANCOUVER, BC—Last weekend 12 Chinese Canadian and First Nations artists met in Chinatown’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Plaza in Vancouver, for the Big Print Project, a celebration of large-scale woodcut printing.

Artists carved four-foot by eight foot wooden panels to create prints using a steamroller as a press. The prints will be auctioned on August 19 at the Chinese Cultural Centre Museum and Archives— and will be on display from August 20-21.
